Sthala Mahātmyam
Situated within the historic fort of Devanahalli (also called Devanapuram) on the outskirts of Bengaluru, this ancient temple is regarded as about 500 years old, and the very name Devanahalli is said to mean 'the abode of God.' In the sanctum, Sri Venugopala grants his gracious darshan in a standing posture, playing the flute, with his consorts Sri Bama Devi and Sri Rukmani Devi on either side of him. The temple belongs to the period following the Vijayanagara empire and today lies under the protection of the Archaeological Survey of India; its many sculptures are admired as wonderfully crafted. Among its observances, the Chaitra Purnima worship that falls in the month of April is held to be especially sacred. Equally distinctive is the Saturday worship offered here, which devotees undertake to be blessed with a good life-partner and with lasting understanding and harmony between husband and wife. These features together make this a much-revered kshetram.

(🙏🏻 சிறப்புக்கள் பல பெற்ற இத்திருத்தலத்தின் பதிவுகள் சில மட்டும்; தேவனபுரம் எனும் தேவனஹள்ளி நகரத்தின் கோட்டையுனுள் அமைந்துள்ள பழமைமிகு இத்திருக்கோயிலின் கருவறையில் தேவியர் இருபுறமும் உடனிருக்க, குழல் இசைத்தபடி நின்ற திருக்கோலத்தில் அருட்காட்சியளிக்கும் ஸ்ரீ வேணுகோபாலன் சுமார் 500-ஆண்டு காலம் பழமையானவராம். ( ஆலயம் அமைந்துள்ள பெங்களூரு மாவட்டத்தின் புறநகரமான தேவனபுரம் எனும் தேவனஹள்ளி பெயரின் பொருள் 'கடவுளின் இருப்பிடம்' என்பதாகும்) நமது இந்திய தொல்லியல் துறையின் கட்டுப்பாட்டில் அமைந்துள்ள இத்திருத்தலத்தின் சிற்பங்கள் அத்தனையும் அற்புதம். விஜயநகர சாம்ராஜ்யத்திற்கு பிந்தய காலத்தைச்சேர்ந்த இத்திருக்கோயிலில், ஏப்ரல் மாதம் நடைபறும் சைத்ர பூர்ணிமா வழிபாடு வெகு விசேஷமாம். நல்வாழ்க்கை துணை அமைந்திடவும், தம்பதியர் கருத்தொற்றுமை மேன்மையுறவும் நடைபெறும் சனிக்கிழமை வழிபாடு மற்றுமொரு தல விசேஷம். 🙏🏻ஓம் நமோ நாராயணாய நமக: 🇮🇳👍🏻 *பாரத நாடு* *பழம்பெரும் நாடு!* *நீரதன் புதல்வர்!* *இந்நினைவகற்றாதீர்!*
