This ancient Vaishnava shrine at Ellappalayam, recently renovated, enshrines in its sanctum the Lord with His consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi on either side. True to His name, He graces devotees in a standing posture with a dark-hued divine form as 'Kariyamanicka Perumal' (the dark gem). The beautiful temple is distinguished by the tall deepasthambam characteristic of the shrines of the Kongu Mandalam region, and stands on the Perundurai to Pethampalayam road, via Kanchikovil and Kavundapadi. One of many ancient temples little known to devotees from outside the locality, it is renowned for its Vaikunta Ekadasi worship; the Vaikunta Ekadasi festival, celebrated in the Purattasi month, is especially grand. All festivals dear to the Lord and His consorts are observed with distinction. Among the temple's special customs is the Saturday worship offered for the welfare of cattle and for prosperity in agriculture and trade.

(🙏🏻 சிறப்புக்கள் பல பெற்ற இத்திருத்தலத்தின் பதிவுகள் சில மட்டும்; சமீப காலத்தில் சிறப்பாக திருப்பணிகள் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ள இந்த பழமைமிகு வைணவ திருத்தலத்தின் கருவறையில் நம் வேங்கடவன், தேவியர் இருபுறமும் உடனிருக்க, பெயருக்கேற்றார்போல கருமைநிற திருமேனியராய் 'கரியமாணிக்கப் பெருமாள்' எனும் திருநாமத்துடன் நின்ற திருக்கோலத்தில் அழகு அருட்காட்சியளிப்பதை காணப்பரவசம். கொங்கு மண்டலத்தின் ஆலயங்களுக்கே உரித்தான உயரமான தீபஸ்தம்பத்துடன் அமையப்பெற்ற இந்த அழகுமிகு திருக்கோயில், பெருந்துறை to (காஞ்சிக்கோவில், கவுந்தப்பாடி) பெத்தாம்பாளையம் சாலையில் அமைந்துள்ளது. உள்ளூர் மக்களை தவிர, வெளியூர் பக்தர்களால் அதிகம் அறியப்படாத பல பழமைமிகு ஆலயங்களுள் ஒன்றான இத்திருக்கோயிலில், (வைகுண்ட ஏகாதசி வழிபாடு தலபிரசித்தம்) புரட்டாசி மாதம் நடைபெறும் வைகுண்ட ஏகாதசி விழா வெகு விசேஷமாமம். பெருமாள் தம்பதியருக்கு உகந்த அனைத்து விழாக்களும் சிறப்பாக கொண்டாடப்படும் இத்திருத்தலத்தில், கால்நடைகளின் நலமும், விவசாயம் மற்றும் தொழில் வளங்களும் சிறக்க நடைபெறும் சனிக்கிழமை வழிபாடு தலச்சிறப்புக்களில் ஒன்றாகும்). 🙏🏻ஓம் நமோ நாராயணாய நமக: 🇮🇳👍🏻 *பாரத நாடு* *பழம்பெரும் நாடு!* *நீரதன் புதல்வர்!* *இந்நினைவகற்றாதீர்!*
