Belonging to the 19th century and recently well renovated, this ancient Vaishnava temple enshrines Thirumal in its sanctum with Sridevi and Bhudevi, standing under the distinctive name Sri Vellai Perumal ('White Perumal'). Among the celebrated Saiva and Vaishnava temples of the Rasipuram area, this peaceful shrine is built like a small hillock in a serene village setting. The people of Koothakoundampalayam begin every auspicious occasion in their homes only after first placing it before this temple's Perumal and his consorts. In earlier times the villagers worshipped a small, white-hued rock near the temple as the swayambhu Perumal, and even today the first worship is offered to him; later they carved vigrahas of the divine couple, built the temple, and have worshipped since. The shrine has a very pure and serene appearance, and Sri Thumbikkai Azhwar (Vinayaka) and Sri Lakshmi Hayagreeva grace it beautifully. The temple sees grand festivities on the third Saturday of Purattasi and on Vaikunta Ekadasi, while the evening worship offered to the Perumal couple on Saturdays is a special thala visesham.

(சிறப்புக்கள் பல பெற்ற இத்தலத்தின் பதிவுகள் சில மட்டும்; சமீப காலத்தில் சிறப்பாக திருப்பணிகள் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ள, 19-ஆம் நூற்றாண்டினைச் சேர்ந்த இந்த பழமையான வைணவ ஆலயத்தின் கருவறையில் நம் திருமால், ஸ்ரீதேவி, பூதேவி சமேதராக ஸ்ரீ வெள்ளை பெருமாள் எனும் வித்தியாசமான திருநாமத்துடன் நின்ற கோலத்தில் அருட்காட்சியளிக்கிறார். ராசிபுரம் வட்டாரத்தில் பிரசித்தி பெற்ற சைவ, வைணவ கோயில்களில், அமைதியான (கிராம சூழலில்) மிகச்சிறிய குன்று போல அமைக்கப்பட்ட இத்தலமும் ஒன்று. ஆலயம் அமைந்துள்ள கூத்தகவுண்டம்பாளையத்தில் வாழ்ந்திடும் மக்கள், தங்கள் இல்லங்களில் நடைபெறும் எந்தவொரு சுப நிகழ்வுகளையும் இத்தல பெருமாள் தம்பதியரை முன் வைத்தே நடத்துகிறார்கள். ( முற்காலத்தில், இக்கோயிலின் அருகே காட்சிதரும் வெண்மை போன்ற சிறு பாறையை சுயம்பு பெருமாளாக வழிபட்டுவந்த(இன்றும் முதல் வழிபாடு இவருக்கே) இக்கிராம மக்கள், பிற்காலத்தில் பெருமாள் தம்பதியருக்கு விக்ரகம் வடித்து, ஆலயம் கட்டி வணங்கி வருகின்றனராம்) மிகத்தூய்மையாக தோற்றமளிக்கும் இச்சிறு தலத்தில் அருள்பாலிக்கும் ஸ்ரீ தும்பிக்கை ஆழ்வாரும், ஸ்ரீ லக்ஷ்மி ஹயக்ரீவரும் அழகழகு. புரட்டாசி மாதத்தின் 3-ஆவது சனிக்கிழமை மற்றும் வைகுண்ட ஏகாதசி நாட்களில் பெரும் திருவிழாக்கோலம் காணும் இத்தலத்தில், அருட்குடிகொண்டிருக்கும் பெருமாள் தம்பதியருக்கு, சனிக்கிழமைகளில் நடைபெறும் மாலை வழிபாடு தலவிசேஷம்). 🙏🏻ஓம் நமோ நாராயணாய நமக: 🇮🇳👍🏻 *பாரத நாடு பழம்பெரும் நாடு!* *நீரதன் புதல்வர்!* *இந்நினைவகற்றாதீர்!*
