This ancient rock-cut cave temple (kudavarai koyil) at Malayadipatti enshrines Sri Ranganatha Perumal, who graces devotees reclining in ananda-sayana upon Adisesha. Its foremost glory is that the Lord here is more than 1300 years old. Now maintained under the Central Archaeological Department, the shrine is also revered as the place where the Lord granted darshan to the sage Divakara. Sri Kamalavalli Thayar graces devotees in a seated posture in her own separate sannidhi. A distinctive feature of this Malayadipatti village is that upon a small hill both a Pallava-period Shiva shrine (Sri Vageeswarar) and this Pallikonda Perumal shrine are situated together. Celebrated for its renowned and intricate sculptural artistry, the cave temple offers a particularly special darshan of the moolavar's sacred feet (paada darshan). It is believed that worshipping here on amavasai by offering "eye-flowers" (kanmalar) helps relieve ailments related to the eyes.

(🙏🏻 சிறப்புக்கள் பல பெற்ற இத்திருத்தலத்தின் பதிவுகள் சில மட்டும்; தொன்மையான குடவறைக்கோயிலின் கருவறையில், ஆதிசேஷன் மீது ஆனந்த சயன திருக்கோலத்தில் அருட்காட்சியளிக்கும் நம் ரங்கநாத பெருமாள் சுமார் 1300-ஆண்டுகளுக்கும்மேல் பழமையானவர் என்பது தலச்சிறப்புக்களில் முதன்மையானதாகும். மத்திய தொல்லியல் துறையின் கட்டுப்பாட்டில் உள்ள இத்திருக்கோயிலில் அருள்பாலிக்கும் நம் பெருமாள், திவாகர ரிஷிக்கு அருட்காட்சியளித்த தலம் என்பது தலச்சிறப்புக்களில் ஒன்றாகும். நம் கமலவல்லி தாயார் தனி சன்னதியில் அமர்ந்த திருக்கோலத்தில் அருள்பாலிக்கின்றாள். (சிறு குன்றின் மீது பல்லவர் காலத்தினைச்சேர்ந்த சிவன் ( ஸ்ரீ வாகீஸ்வர்) ஸ்தலமும், பள்ளிகொண்ட பெருமாள் ஸ்தலமும் ஒருங்கே அமையப்பெற்றுள்ளது இந்த மலையடிப்பட்டி கிராமத்தின் தனிச்சிறப்பாகும்) பிரசித்தி பெற்ற சிற்பக்கலை நுணுக்கத்துடன்அமைந்த இக்குடவரைக் கோயிலின் மூலவர் பெருமாளின் பாத தரிசனம் காணபது மிகவும் விசேஷமாம்.
