Sthala Mahātmyam
Situated near the Western Ghats on the northern bank of the Noyyal river and reverently called the 'Kongu Tirupati', this ancient Vaishnava temple at Parameswaran Palayam in Coimbatore district enshrines Lord Venkatavan facing east in a standing posture, together with Sri Devi and Bhudevi. Over a thousand years old, the Lord's specialty is that his gaze is cast downward towards the earth. That the temple was renovated during the reigns of the Kongu Cheras, Kongu Cholas and Kongu Pandyas is attested by the many sculptures of fish, yali and other figures carved on the outer wall of the sanctum. Another remarkable specialty is that every year, in the first week of April and the second week of October, the rays of the Sun God spread over the Lord in worship. The beauty of the utsavar couple is celebrated, and special Saturday worship is offered to them and to Sri Anjaneya. All festivals dear to the divine couple are grandly observed, and the Saturday worship conducted for health and prosperity is the temple's thala visesham.

(🇮🇳🙏🏻 சிறப்புக்கள் பல பெற்ற இத்திருத்தலத்தின் பதிவுகள் சில மட்டும்; மேற்கு தொடர்ச்சி மலையருகே, நொய்யல் ஆற்றின் வடகரையில் அமைந்துள்ள "கொங்கு திருப்பதி" என்றழைக்கப்படும் இந்த பழமைமிகு வைணவ திருத்தலத்தின் கருவறையில் நம் வேங்கடவன், ஸ்ரீதேவி, பூதேவி சமேதராக கிழக்கு முகமாக நின்ற திருக்கோலத்தில் அருட்காட்சியளிக்கிறார். (சுமார் 1000-ஆண்டுகளுக்கும் மேல் பழமையானவரான இத்தல பெருமாள், பூமியை நோக்கிடும் பார்வையில் திருக்காட்சியளிப்பது தலச்சிறப்பாகும்) கொங்கு சேரர்கள், கொங்கு சோழர்கள், கொங்கு பாண்டியர்கள் ஆட்சிகாலத்தில் இத்திருத்தலம் திருப்பணிகள் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளதற்கு சான்றாக கருவறையின் வெளிச்சுற்றில் மீன்,யாளி போன்ற பல சிற்பங்கள் வடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் ஏப்ரல் மாத முதல் வாரத்திலும், அக்டோபர் மாத இரண்டாம் வாரத்திலும் சூரிய பகவானின் ஒளிக்க்திகள் இறைவன் மீது படர்ந்து வழிபட்டுச்செல்வது மற்றுமொரு தலச்சிறப்பாகும். உற்சவர் தம்பதியர் அழகு, இத்தம்பதியருக்கும், ஸ்ரீ ஆஞ்சநேய பெருமானுக்கும் நடைபெறும் சனிக்கிழமை சிறப்பு வழிபாடு சிறப்பு. நம் திருமால் தம்பதியருக்கு உகந்த அனைத்து விழாக்களும் சிறப்பாக கொண்டாடப்படும் இத்திருத்தலத்தில் நலமும் வளமும் சிறக்க நடைபெறும் சனிக்கிழமை வழிபாடு தலவிசேஷம்) 🙏🏻ஓம் நமோ நாராயணாய நமக: 🇮🇳👍🏻 *பாரத நாடு* *பழம்பெரும் நாடு!* *நீரதன் புதல்வர்!* *இந்நினைவகற்றாதீர்!*
