Sthala Mahātmyam
Built by the Cholas, this ancient and time-honoured Vaishnava shrine at Peruvalanallur enshrines in its sanctum the Lord as Sri Varadarajar, standing with His consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi on either side. Recently renovated with care, it remains one of the old Vaishnava temples that, apart from the local people, is little known to devotees from beyond the locality. A notable distinction is that the daily pujas here are performed following the very worship traditions and practices of the great Srirangam temple. Among the temple's foremost thala viseshams is the Sorgavasal (Vaikunta Ekadasi 'Gate of Paradise') observance held in the Margazhi month, reckoned first among its special events. The Saturday worship, offered with earnest prayers for family unity and harmony and for the flourishing and continuance of one's lineage (vamsa vridhi), is especially renowned at this shrine. All festivals dear to the Lord are celebrated here with fitting distinction and devotion.

(🙏🏻 சிறப்புக்கள் பல பெற்ற இத்தலத்தின் பதிவுகள் சில மட்டும்; சோழர்களால் கட்டப்பட்ட பழமை வாய்ந்த இந்த வைணவ திருத்தலத்தின் கருவறையில், தேவியர் இருபுறமும் உடனிருக்க நம் பெருமாள் ஸ்ரீ வரதராஜர் எனும் திருநாமத்துடன் நின்ற திருக்கோலத்தில் அருட்காட்சியளிக்கிறார். சமீப காலத்தில் சிறப்பாக திருப்பணிகள் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ள இத்திருத்தலம், உள்ளூர் மக்களைத் தவிர, வெளியூர் பக்தர்களால் அதிகம் அறியப்படாத பழமைமிகு வைணவ ஆலயங்களில் ஒன்றாகும். (ஸ்ரீரங்கம் ஆலயத்தின் வழிபாட்டு நடைமுறையிலேயே இக்கோவிலிலும் பூஜைகள் நடைபெறுகின்றனவாம்) இத்திருத்தலத்தில், மார்கழி மாதம் நடைபெறும் சொர்க்கவாசல் நிகழ்வு தல விசேஷங்களில் முதன்மையாகும். குடும்ப ஒற்றுமைக்கும், வம்ச விருத்திக்கும் வேண்டுதல் வைத்து நடைபெறும் சனிக்கிழமை வழிபாடு தலபிரசித்தம்). 🙏🏻ஓம் நமோ நாராயணாய நமக: 🇮🇳👍🏻 *பாரத நாடு* *பழம்பெரும் நாடு!* *நீரதன் புதல்வர்!* *இந்நினைவகற்றாதீர்!*
