Sthala Mahātmyam
Set on the banks of the Tamiraparani river, this ancient Vaishnava temple enshrines Sri Rama, who gives darshan in a standing posture with Sri Sita Piratti on his right and Sri Lakshmana on his left. One of the many old temples little known beyond the locality, it is said, according to the sthala tradition, to be the place where Sri Rama during his avatara performed the funeral rites (tarpanam) for the bird Jatayu. In the Tirunelveli area it is popularly called the 'Kaatturamar Kovil,' a name thought to have arisen from its peaceful forest setting. Sri Jayasiddhi Anjaneyar, gracing devotees with both hands folded in reverence, is especially revered here, and the Saturday worship offered to him for wellbeing is a notable observance. Sri Rama Navami is celebrated grandly. It is also told that the saint Mayaandi Siddhar was born at this place; the temple is further honoured as a sthalam that removes Pitru dosha, and the Saturday worship undertaken for family unity and harmony is among its cherished specialities.

(🙏🏻 சிறப்புக்கள் பல பெற்ற இத்திருத்தலத்தின் பதிவுகள் சில மட்டும்; தாமிரபரணி ஆற்றின் கரையில் அமைந்துள்ள இந்த தொன்மையான வைணவ திருத்தலத்தின் கருவறையில், வலதுபுறம் ஸ்ரீசீதாபிராட்டியும், இடதுபுறம் ஸ்ரீலட்சுமணனும் உடனிருக்க நின்ற திருக்கோலத்தில் ஸ்ரீராமர் அருட்காட்சியளிக்கிறார். உள்ளூர் மக்களை தவிர, வெளியூர் பக்தர்களால் அதிகம் அறியப்படாத பல பழமையான வைணவ திருத்தலங்களில் ஒன்றான இத்திருத்தலத்தில், (ஒரு புராண வரலாற்று நிகழ்விபடி;) ஸ்ரீராமர், தனது அவதாரத்தின்போது ஜடாயுவுக்குத் தர்பணம் செய்த தலமென்று கூறப்படுகிறது. (திருநெல்வேலி வட்டத்தில், "காட்டுராமர் கோயில்" என்றே இத்திருத்தலத்தினை அழைக்கிறார்கள். 🤔 அமைதியான வனச்சூழலில் அமையப்பெற்றதால், இத்திருத்தலத்திற்கு அப்பெயர் வந்திருக்கலாம் என்கிறார்கள்) இருகரம் கூப்பிய நிலையில் அருள்பாலிக்கும் ஸ்ரீஜெயசித்தி ஆஞ்சநேயர், இத்திருத்தலத்தில் சிறப்பு பெற்றவராக திகழ்கிறார். நலம் சிறக்க இவருக்கு நடைபெறும் சனிக்கிழமை வழிபாடு தலவிசேஷம். ஸ்ரீ ராம நவமி சிறப்பாக கொண்டாடப்படும் இத்திருத்தலத்தில்தான் மாயாண்டி சித்தர் அவதரித்தார் என்பதும், மற்றும் பித்ரு தோஷம் போக்கிடும் தலமாக விளங்குவதும், குடும்ப ஒற்றுமை மேலோங்க நடைபெறும் சனிக்கிழமை வழிபாடும் இத்திருக்கோயிலின் சிறப்புகளில் சிலவாகும்). 🙏🏻ஓம் ஸ்ரீ ராமபிரானே போற்றி! போற்றி! போற்றி! 🇮🇳👍🏻*பாரத நாடு* *பழம்பெரும் நாடு!* *நீரதன் புதல்வர்!இந்நினைவகற்றாதீர்!*
