Situated on the banks of the Surabhi river and reckoned over 500 years old, this Vaishnava temple at Arikesavanallur (Chinnamanur) enshrines the Lord beneath a Tritala vimana as Sri Lakshmi Narayanar, standing with Sri Devi and Bhudevi. Its foremost speciality is that Sri Anjaneya, who is usually seen at the feet of Sri Rama, here graces the feet of Sri Lakshmi Narayanar. Ordinarily the murti seen with Mahalakshmi is called Lakshmi Narayanar; here, because the Mahalakshmi upon the Lord's chest is regarded as the chief Thayar, the deity bears the name Sri Lakshmi Narayanar. By tradition, a Chera king was instructed in a dream to have an image fashioned in the form of Guruvayurappan, and he consecrated that vigraha together with the images of the two Thayars. As the Lord grants darshan in the Guruvayur form, the sandalwood held in His hand is given to devotees as prasadam, another speciality. The Saturday worship, sought for a good life-partner and for harmony between couples, is especially auspicious here.

(🙏🏻 சிறப்புக்கள் பல பெற்ற இத்திருத்தலத்தின் பதிவுகள் சில மட்டும்; சுரபி நதிக்கரையில் அமைந்துள்ள, சுமார் 500-ஆண்டுகளுக்கும்மேல் பழைமையான இந்த வைணவ திருத்தலத்தில், திரிதளவிமானத்தின் கீழுள்ள கருவறையில் நம் திருமால், ஸ்ரீ லக்ஷ்மி நாராயணர் எனும் திருநாமத்துடன் ஸ்ரீதேவி, பூதேவி சமேதராக நின்ற திருக்கோலத்தில் அருட்காட்சியளிக்கிறார். (எப்போதும், ஸ்ரீ ராமர் திருவடியினருகில் அருள்பாலிக்கும்) ஸ்ரீ ஆஞ்சநேயர், இத்திருத்தலத்தில் ஸ்ரீ லக்ஷ்மி நாராயணரின் திருவடியினருகே அருட்காட்சியளிப்பது தலச்சிறப்புக்களில் முதன்மையானதாகும். (பொதுவாக, மஹாலக்ஷ்மி தாயாருடன் காட்சியளிக்கும் மூர்த்தியே "லக்ஷ்மி நாராயணர்" என்றழைக்கப்படுவார். ஆனால், இங்கு சுவாமியின் திருமார்பிலுள்ள மஹாலக்ஷ்மியே பிரதான தாயாராக கருதப்படுவதால், இத்தல இறைவன் 'ஸ்ரீலக்ஷ்மி நாராயணர்' எனும் திருநாமத்தில் அழைக்கப்படுகின்றாராம்) ஒரு வரலாற்று நிகழ்வின்படி; சேர மன்னர் ஒருவரின் கனவில் நம் பெருமாள், குருவாயூரப்பன் அமைப்பில் சிலை வடிவக்க பணித்ததாகவும், அம்மன்னர் அந்த விக்ரகத்துடன் தாயார் இருவரின் விக்ரகங்களையும் பிரதிஷ்டைசெய்ததாகவும் கூறப்படுகிறது.
