Sthala Mahātmyam
Situated on the banks of the Arasalar, a tributary of the Cauvery, this ancient little Vaishnava temple enshrines the Lord under the name Sri Vasudeva, standing with his Devis on either side. Revered as the 'Perumal who removes obstacles to marriage', the Lord is honoured with a special Saturday worship. Built by the Cholas and little known beyond local devotees, the temple currently awaits renovation. Its foremost glory, however, is Sri Bhavya Anjaneyar in a separate shrine, standing facing the Lord with hands folded and mouth reverently covered in a posture of humility. As the saying goes, 'though the idol is small, its fame is great', and this Anjaneyar is renowned for his special power. In the month of Masi, a Laksharchanai is performed for him beginning on Punarpoosam and continuing until the Moola nakshatra. To dispel the affliction of the evil eye (kan drishti) and to strengthen body and mind, a special homam is performed every month on the Moola nakshatra, and for the fulfilment of good intentions, a thirumanjanam is offered to Anjaneyar on Amavasya, all held to be highly special.

(🙏🏻 சிறப்புக்கள் பல பெற்ற இத்திருத்தலத்தின் பதிவுகள் சில மட்டும்; காவேரி ஆற்றின் கிளை நதியான அரசலாற்றின் கரையோரம் அமைந்துள்ள பழமைமிகு இச்சிறு வைணவ திருத்தலத்தின் கருவறையில் நம் பெருமாள், ஸ்ரீ வாசுதேவர் எனும் திருநாமத்துடன் தேவியர் இருபுறமும் உடனிருக்க நின்ற திருக்கோலத்தில் அழகு அருட்காட்சியளிக்கிறார். "திருமணத்தடைகளை நீக்கும் பெருமாள்" என்றழைக்கப்படும் இத்தல இறைவனுக்கு, நடைபெறும் சனிக்கிழமை வழிபாடு தலவிசேஷம். (உள்ளூர் மக்களைத் தவிர, வெளியூர் பக்தர்களால் அதிகம் அறியப்படாத, சோழர்களால் கட்டப்பட்ட இத்திருத்தலம், தற்போது திருப்பணிகளை எதிர்நோக்கியுள்ளது) தனி சன்னதியில், இறைவனை நோக்கியவாறு கைகட்டி, வாய்பொத்தி பணிவுடன் நின்ற திருக்கோலத்தில் காட்சிதரும் ஸ்ரீ பவ்ய ஆஞ்சநேயரே இத்திருத்தலத்தின் சிறப்பு பெற்றவராக திகழ்கின்றார். "மூர்த்தி சிறிதென்றாலும், கீர்த்தி பெரிது பெரிது" என்பதுபோல விசேஷமான சக்திகொண்டு திகழும் இத்தல பவ்ய ஆஞ்சநேயருக்கு, மாசி மாதத்தில் புனர்பூசம் துவங்கி, மூல நட்சத்திரம் வரை நடைபெறும் லட்சார்ச்சனை நிகழ்வு வெகு சிறப்பு. 'கண் திருஷ்டி' எனும் 'கொடிய நோய்' அகன்று உடல், மனம் சிறக்க, மாதம்தோறும் மூல நட்சத்திரத்தன்று நடைபெறும் விசேஷ ஹோமமும் மற்றும் நல் எண்ணங்கள் ஈடேற, அமாவாசை அன்று, ஆஞ்சநேயருக்கு நடைபெறும் திருமஞ்சன நிகழ்வும் வெகு விசேஷமாம்). 🙏🏻ஓம் நமோ நாராயணாய நமக: 🙏🏻ஓம் ஸ்ரீ பவ்ய ஆஞ்சநேயரே போற்றி! போற்றி! 🇮🇳👍🏻 *பாரத நாடு* *பழம்பெரும் நாடு!* *நீரதன் புதல்வர்!* *இந்நினைவகற்றாதீர்!*
