About 1,000 years old and recently renovated, this Vaishnava shrine at Mangaimadam enshrines Mahavishnu seated as Sri Veera Narasimha Perumal, with His consorts on either side. In a separate sannidhi, Sri Sengamalavalli Nachiyar grants beautiful darshan, while the utsavar is the lovely Sri Ranganathar with His consort. It is the second of the celebrated Pancha Narasimha kshetrams around Thirunangur. By tradition, this village was the headquarters of Thirumangai Azhvar, chief of the small kingdom of 'Thiruvali' under the Chola empire. Having embraced Vaishnavism, and in order to marry the maiden Kumudavalli, he fed 1,008 people daily (thathiyaradhana) for a full year at this very place. Because the Azhvar maintained here an annasathram feeding the people, the village came to be called 'Mangaimadam.' This is the Narasimha temple to worship for a good life-partner and for gaining and sustaining mental courage. All festivals dear to the Lord and His consort are celebrated splendidly, with Sri Narasimha Jayanthi observed with special grandeur.

(🙏🏻சிறப்புக்கள் பல பெற்ற இத்தலத்தின் பதிவுகள் சில மட்டும்; சுமார் 1000-ஆண்டுகள் பழமையான, சமீப காலத்தில் சிறப்பாக திருப்பணிகள் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ள இந்த வைணவ இத்திருத்தலத்தின் கருவறையில் நம் மஹாவிஷ்ணு பகவான், தேவியர் இருபுறமும் உடனிருக்க, ஸ்ரீ வீர நரசிம்ம பெருமாள் எனும் எனும் திருநாமத்துடன் அமர்ந்த திருக்கோலத்தில் அருள்பாலிக்கிறார். தனி சன்னதியில், ஸ்ரீசெங்கமலவல்லி நாச்சியார் அழகுத் திருக்காட்சியளிக்கிறாள். (உற்சவர் ஸ்ரீ ரங்கநாதர் தம்பதியர் அழகு). பிரசித்தி பெற்ற திருநாங்கூர் சுற்றுப்பகுதியில் உள்ள பஞ்ச நரசிம்ம ஷேத்திரங்களில், இத்திருத்தலம் 2-ஆவது தலம். ஒரு வரலாற்று நிகழ்வின்படி; சோழப் பேரரசின் கீழ் இருந்த 'திருவாலி' என்ற சிறிய ராஜ்யத்தின் தலைவரான திருமங்கை (ஆழ்வார்) மன்னரின் தலைமையகம்தான் இந்த மங்கை மடம். அவர் வைணவ சமயத்தினை தழுவி, குமதவல்லி எனும் பெண்மணியை மணந்திட, ஒரு வருடம் (தினமும் 1008-பேருக்கு) உணவு (தத்தியாராதனை) வழங்கிய தலம் இதுவாகும். (திருமங்கை ஆழ்வார், மக்களுக்கு உணவு அளித்த அன்னசத்திரம் கொண்டிருக்கும் இடமாதலால், இவ்வூர், 'மங்கைமடம்' என்றழைக்கப்படுகின்றது) நல்வாழ்க்கை துணை அமைந்திடவும், மன தைரியம் கிடைக்கவும், அது தொடரவும் வழிபடவேண்டிய நரசிம்மர் ஆலயம் இதுவாகும். பெருமாள் தம்பதியருக்கு உகந்த அத்தனை விழாக்களும் சிறப்பாக கொண்டாடப்படும் இத்திருத்தலத்தில், ஸ்ரீ நரசிம்மர் ஜெயந்தி விழா வெகு சிறப்பாக கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது). 🙏🏻ஓம் நமோ நாராயணாய நமக: 🇮🇳👍🏻 *பாரத நாடு* *பழம்பெரும் நாடு!* *நீரதன் புதல்வர்!* *இந்நினைவகற்றாதீர்!*
