Sthala Mahātmyam
Around 600 years old and east-facing, this small Vaishnava temple enshrines the Lord, reverently called our Vengadavan, as Sri Varadaraja Perumal together with Sridevi and Bhudevi, appearing somewhat large in form, with the mace held in His left hand planted upon the ground. Set in a green little village, the divine couple who reside here in serene grace are said to be especially bountiful in granting the wishes of devotees who make heartfelt vows. Among the ancient shrines little known beyond the locality, this too is one revered for removing obstacles to marriage (thirumana thadai). All the festivals dear to Perumal are celebrated here with devotion, and the Karthigai Deepam worship observed at this temple is a distinctive specialty. The Saturday worship of the utsavar, conducted for the health and prosperity of devotees, is another cherished observance of this quiet kshetram.

(🙏🏻 சிறப்புக்கள் பல பெற்ற இத்தலத்தின் பதிவுகள் சில மட்டும்; சுமார் 600-ஆண்டுகள் பழமையான, கிழக்கு நோக்கி அமைந்துள்ள ஆலயத்தின் கருவறையில் நம் வேங்கடவன், ஸ்ரீதேவி, பூதேவி சமேதராக ஸ்ரீ வரதராஜப்பெருமாள் எனும் திருநாமத்துடன், இடது கரத்தில் வைத்திருக்கும் கதாயுதத்தை பூமியில் ஊன்றியபடி சற்றே பெரியவராக அருட்காட்சியளிக்கிறார். பசுமையான சிறு கிராமத்தில், அமைந்துள்ள இந்த மிகச்சிறிய ஆலயத்தில் அமைதியுற அருட்குடிகொண்டிருக்கும் இறை தம்பதியர், உளமார வேண்டுதல் வைக்கும் பக்தர்களுக்கு அருள்புரிவதில் மிகுந்த வரப்பிரசாதியானவர்களாம். உள்ளூர் மக்களைத் தவிர வெளியூர் பக்தர்களால் அதிகம் அறியப்படாத பழமையான ஆலயங்களில், திருமணத்தடை நீக்கிடும் இத்தலமும் ஒன்று. பெருமாளுக்கு உகந்த அத்தனை விழாக்களும் சிறப்பாக கொண்டாடப்படும் இந்த வைணவ திருத்தலத்தில் நடைபெறும் கார்த்திகை தீப வழிபாடு வித்தியாசமிக்க விசேஷமாகும். நலமும், வளமும் சிறக்க நடைபெறும் சனிக்கிழமை உற்சவர் வழிபாடு மற்றுமொரு தலவிசேஷம்). 🙏🏻ஓம் நமோ நாராயணாய நமக: 🇮🇳👍🏻 *பாரத நாடு* *பழம்பெரும் நாடு!* *நீரதன் புதல்வர்!* *இந்நினைவகற்றாதீர்!*
